The 2021 Ballon d'Or award ceremony is eventually here, with the prestigious prize having taken a break in 2020 due to the COVID-19 disease outbreak and the winner of the 2021 prize was to be declared openly on Monday evening at approximately 20:30 CET.
The favorites were already apparent with Karim Benzema going up against Robert Lewandowski, Lionel Messi, and N'Golo Kante, and it is the Argentine international who happened to be the overpowering option with the bookmakers after his remarkable achievements in the Copa America, ultimately lifting his first professional cup in an Albiceleste jersey.

After the closure of the ceremony, former Barcelona player, Lionel Messi emerged as the winner of the 2021 Ballon d’Or prize.
Polish striker, Robert Lewandowski ended up in second place after having a sublime season in the Bundesliga where he broke Gerd Muller's goal record after he scored 41 goals in the league.
The Bayern Munich forward, however, was being awarded as the best striker for the 2021 year in retrospect.
Chelsea and Italian midfielder came in third place after he won the Champions League, Euro 2020 and UEFA Super Cup.
