BUILDING SELF-CONFIDENCE

It is a fact that a lot of people strive with self-esteem in their everyday life.

Low self-esteem can trickle into all areas of your life and has the tendency of affecting your beign as well as your relationship with other people.

People who strive with low self-esteem tend to have misunderstandings, anxiety and resentment.

They also struggle with being honest about their feelings, which can cause them to desiring constant affirmation.

Self-confidence is very vital both for our personality as well as our professional lives, and more honorably, is the glue that clasps together our relationship with ourselves.

Below are six ways to boost your confidence in everyday life.

1. SOLICIT FOR SUPPORT

Every so often, low self-esteem descends from challenging issues that are hard or even impossible to be addressed all by ourselves.

It is important to note that, you should not hesitate to turn to a trusted friend or even a professional to help you whenever you feel like you need help.

Friends and professionals will be able to offer an outside opinion and help you find ways to address the challenges.

Sometimes, It can be intimidating to admit that you need help or to admit that you are lacking confidence in the first place.

But, oftentimes, taking this leap of faith and admitting that you need help is the first step on the journey to self confidence.

Admitting that you need help, and taking initiative can feel super empowering, which can help improve your confidence.

A good support system will help you gain more confidence and explore ways to gain confidence.

2. GIVE YOURSELF REWARDS AND CREDITS WHERE IT'S DUE.

Be your own source of motivation.

Make it a point to treat yourself well every day and do things that you know will make you feel better about yourself.

At the end of the day, take a moment to think about something you’re proud of from the day - be it getting a workout in, finishing a project , or checking a task off your to-do list that you’ve been dreading.

Shifting your mindset to acknowledge your progress will give you more motivation to get up and work toward your goals the next day, you are a great person!

3. AVOID HOLDING GRUDGES

Note that, we can’t expect ourselves to be perfect, so similarly, we can’t expect other people to be perfect either.

People in our lives are bound to offend us at one time or another and instead of letting these mess ups weigh on us, it’s important to forgive and forget.

When you give yourself permission to get over the grudge and move on, you allow yourself to live in the present.

Taking initiative in this way, and trusting your own instincts of forgiveness will help you feel more confident moving forward.

4. SPEND TIME WITH GOOD PEOPLE

Associate yourself with people who make you feel good about yourself and people who treat you well.

Avoid people who treat you badly.

Always spend time with people who influence you positively and help you dicover your shortcomings and potentials and thus help you improve on them.

5. PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR OWN NEEDS AND WANTS.

Listen to what your body, your mind, and your heart are telling you. Take time to do things you enjoy.

You may be so busy, or feel so badly about yourself, that you spend little or no time doing things you enjoy.

Make a list of things you enjoy doing. Then do something from that list every day.

Add to the list anything new that you discover you enjoy doing.

Do things that make use of your own special talents and abilities.

Take advantage of opportunities to learn something new or improve your skills.

6. EXERCISE

Arrange a time every day or as often as possible when you can get some exercise.

You can do many different things.

Taking a walk is the most common.

You could run, ride a bicycle, play a sport, climb up and down stairs several times, put on a tape, or play the radio and dance to the music-anything that feels good to you.

If you have a health problem that may restrict your ability to exercise, check with your doctor before beginning or changing your exercise habits.
