According to Hon. Babagana Umara Zulum who happens to be the governor of Borno in Nigeria has come out to say they have uncovered names of babies in their payroll.
The Governor said on Saturday that a staff verification exercise which was conducted on that day revealed names of babies in the payroll.

Governor Zulum said the payroll of the Shani Local Government Area encompassed some names of babies.
“The money so disbursed, including salaries and allowances, went into the compartments of corrupt officials,” he proclaimed.
Mr. Zulum made this known while speaking at the Menwara Cultural Festival in Shani town.
The staff verification, he let out, was formulated to sterilize the civil service by eliminating the names of ghost employees from the payroll list.

“It was uncovered that one family alone has 300 fake employees and if this trend goes on, I am worried, Shani LGA may not be able to to compensate the monthly earnings of its employees in future, “ he said.
