On December 6th 2021, Drivers went on strike and protested against the increase in fuel cost in the country.
Due to that commercial drivers were not providing passengers with their transport services.
While on the strike, some drivers together with their mates were seen playing “small poles” at some bus stations.

Some were also doing a marathon and others were seen forcing passengers out of some vehicles who were working despite the strike.
Such a tragic happening led to the complains of passengers at Abeka,Lapaz and other places about their long waiting of vehicles which seem to not appear.
As evening drew closer the IGP , Dr. George Akuffo DAMPARE made arrangements to provided buses to passengers to help them go to their various destinations.
