New Democratic Congress's (NDC) General Secretary, Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia says the overture of the electronic levy (E-Levy) on mobile money (MoMo) commerce and other digital transactions in the 2022 budget is definitely unnecessary for now.

Hon. Johnson said the current suffering on Ghanaians with the E-levy brought up will heighten the situation after the government lagged to achieve its heaven on earth pledges.
According to him, probably in the future when the economy fits reliable the E-levy can be initiated.
NDC’s General Secretary, Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia speaking in an interview with NEAT FM said, “E - Levy is not needed now, that is my assertion.”
“ I am not saying anywise electronic transactions should not be taxed in the future .”

“But presently, in such challenging periods, it is an imprint of insensitivity to inflict taxes on them.”
